A very large percentage of the world’s seeds are genetically modified. But like our food in the US, that fact does not have to be disclosed on the label.Relatively few seed companies are dedicated to selling only Non-GMO seeds.High Mowing Seed Company in Vermont now becomes the first to be verified by the Non-GMO Project. It just so happens Vermont has recently passed a law that will require the labeling of genetically engineered food, but seed sold for growing (including growing food) will not need to be labeled under that law. This was a voluntary act on the part of the company.
